Dr Jane FitzGerald trained in anaesthetics at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, completing her fellowship in cardiac anaesthesia in 2008. As a consultant anaesthetist at the Alfred Hospital Melbourne since 2008, her practice includes a range of the most acute and complex surgical and trauma cases.
Jane has further qualifications in echocardiography, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Perioperative and Critical Echocardiography and the HART scan workshop (Haemodynamic Echocardiography Assessment in Real Time).
Jane maintains extensive participation in academic activities, including as the convenor of the Alfred Anaesthetic Symposium from 2010 -2013. She has organised College Trial Viva examinations for anaesthetic trainees, instructed at the Monash Perioperative Medicine Short Course and been a session chair at previous ANZCA conferences.
